Faith | Print by Ray Bidegain

I found this copper cross on the ground one day while walking. I was struck by the simple nature of this object, it looks hand sawed from a sheet of copper plate, with a small hole at the top. I like that this symbol means so many different things to so many people and the conversations it can start. I made the print small on a large sheet because it felt right for this, it is 4x5 inches on an 11x15 sheet. 

This hand-pulled photogravure print is made with Charbonnel carbon black, raw sepia, and warm sepia inks with a dash of Charbonnel sanguine ink on Hahnemühle copperplate paper. I printed an edition of 6 numbered prints and 3 A/P prints.
